Atlanta SMC, HomeAid Atlanta Join Radio to Discuss 2020 Silent Auction

Mandy Crater, executive director at HomeAid Atlanta, and Maria Riggs, the 2020 Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) chair, join co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick on this week’s Around Atlanta segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio to discuss the upcoming Silent Auction and Holiday Party benefiting HomeAid Atlanta. Different from years past, the 2020 Silent Auction will feature online-only bidding, allowing attendees to participate 100% virtually if they wish.

With a ‘Back to the Future’ theme, this year’s festivities will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek. From 6 to 9 p.m., in-person attendees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, desserts, a flashback photo booth, retro music and special performers.

Donations from the expected 60 to 70 auction items will benefit HomeAid Atlanta. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021, HomeAid Atlanta is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA), and the Silent Auction will lead the organization into the New Year continuing to help Atlanta’s homeless population.

“Our mission is to build new lives for families and individuals experiencing homelessness in the metro Atlanta area,” Crater said. “We do that by partnering with our friends in the homebuilding industry, such as Atlanta SMC.”

According to Crater, that partnership has helped HomeAid Atlanta complete 142 projects, saving nonprofits more than $5 million. Project scopes vary from new construction builds, renovations and basic maintenance.

Through Wednesday, November 25, 2020, interested parties can donate silent auction items including vacation trips, rentals, airfare, electronics, art, gift cards, sporting event tickets, jewelry, golf outings, event tickets, sports memorabilia and unique gift baskets. Remaining sponsorship needs include a Cocktail Sponsor.

Donors will receive recognition at the silent auction and in the HomeAid Atlanta newsletter, as well as a tax-deductible donation receipt. Additionally, the Greater Atlanta HBA is accepting cash donations for HomeAid Atlanta. Checks should be made payable to the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.

Event sponsors include Grand Sponsor Atlanta’s Best New Homes Show, Cocktail Sponsor Atlanta Gas Light, Ice Sculpture Sponsor StrucSure Home Warranty, Photobooth Sponsor McMichael & Gray and Entertainment Sponsors SR Homes, Infinitee Marketing, Comcast and Contractors Best Pest Solutions.

The Atlanta Athletic Club is located at 1930 Bobby Jones Drive in Johns Creek. Dress is business attire and cost to attend or access the bidding site is $45 for HBA members and $55 for non-HBA members.
