Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Jorge Tello with Smith Douglas Homes for winning a Gold OBIE for Rookie Salesperson of the Year. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Jorge Tello started at Smith Douglas Homes with no experience in new home sales, yet he exceeded the builder’s expectations as a rookie sales agent with his positive attitude, strong initiative and stellar sales output. He didn’t really know what he was getting into, but he never shied away from the task at hand and always tackled everything with a smile. His primary community, Woodward Crossing, had its own set of challenges from a sales perspective, but he worked hard to overcome those challenges resulting in high sales numbers in his first year.

Since his hire date of June 24, 2014, Jorge has sold 31 units with a sales volume of $6,292,918.75. That’s an accomplishment that Smith Douglas is extremely proud of, especially considering the fact that Woodward Crossing is a smaller product with smaller lots and was a community that consistently suffered poor traffic for several months.

His sales numbers have significantly contributed to Smith Douglas’ sales goals each and every month, which resulted in a record year for the builder in 2014. His contributions have helped the company to break into the Builder 100 list for the first time and achieve a ranking in the 2014 top 10 fastest growing builders in the country.

As a bi-lingual sales agent with a strong initiative and work ethic, Jorge actively participates as a new member of the Atlanta Sales & Marketing Council. Although he entered into a new career in a ‘troubled’ community, he persevered to overcome obstacles such as low traffic, unqualified traffic, buyer objections and more through his unparalleled persistence, prospect mining and self-prospecting.

Jorge epitomized what a ‘Rookie of the Year’ is by the way he conducts himself as an agent. He is a consummate professional dedicated to go the extra mile to achieve extraordinary results. Smith Douglas Homes’ buyers clearly love working with Jorge, and the company loves having him as a valued member of its team.
