Jim Chapman Communities is excited to announce that Kelly Dempsey, vice president of sales and marketing, has once again been named chairman of the Atlanta 50+ Housing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association for 2014.

As one of the nation’s largest 50+ councils, Dempsey’s role includes advising its board members and committees on membership, programs, advocacy, education and charity.

“It is an honor to work with such dedicated professionals,” said Dempsey. “All are valuable to the active adult housing industry and have provided some great opportunities for our members this year.”

The last event of 2013 was held on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Cobb Galleria. Members enjoyed networking and lunch followed by a presentation by Manny Gonzalez, principal with KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture + Planning.

Gonzalez discussed universal design and how today’s active adults want to live at communities that provide amenities and convenient locations.

A crucial member of Jim Chapman Communities, Dempsey and his team work hard to provide all that and more. Brookhaven at Sugarloaf in Duluth, Brookhaven of East Cobb in Kennesaw and Brookhaven at Lanier Ridge in Cumming all boast brick and stone construction, inviting front porches and livable floor plans with two to three bedrooms and easy living features such as wider doorways, ample maneuvering space and zero-step entries.

Amenities include maintenance free lawns, community pools, outdoor fireplaces and clubhouses with exercise rooms and kitchens.

In addition to gorgeous homes and award-winning amenities, each community has easy access to shopping, dining, recreation and hospitals.

“I look forward to watching our council grow further next year and cannot wait to see what’s in store for 50+ housing,” said Dempsey.
