Set in the beautiful Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, this year’s Virginia-Highland Summerfest festival on September 25 and 26 celebrates 37 years of art, music and fun. End this hot summer with a bang – enjoy live bands, shop great art, eat good food and enjoy everything this neighborhood festival has to offer.

Summerfest is located on scenic and historic Virginia Avenue between N. Highland Avenue and Park Drive. The 5K race begins at the eastern end of the festival just one block east of the intersection of Virginia and N. Highland at John Howell Park.

A few attractions to this year’s Summerfest are:

  • Artist Market: The Summerfest Artist Market is quickly becoming one of Atlanta’s premier art shows. You will find art in all types of mediums and genres such as folk, fine and unique art. The artist market is open Saturday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 5K Road Race: Now an official qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race, the Summerfest 5K Road Race will take place on Saturday, September 25. More than 1,500 runners race their way through the Virginia-Highland area. Since the race often reaches its peak early, runners are encouraged to register early. The race also features a FREE BEER and electronic chip timing.
  • Kidsfest: There will be an area for kids to play and enjoy fun activities located in the western section of John Howell Park (where the sand volleyball courts are). Enjoy unique games, crafts and other activities for kids of all ages on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Food: Taste a wide range of delicious food from vendors, food trucks and restaurants. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available at Summerfest.
  • Music: The 2021 Summerfest Music Stages will again feature a variety of renowned local musicians along with nationally acclaimed singer-songwriters.

Admission into the festival is free. Don’t miss out on all the fun for you and your family. For more information about the Virginia-Highland Summerfest, visit the Virginia Highland Summerfest website.

Summerfest is the annual fundraiser for the Virginia-Highland Civic Association, Inc. (VHCA), a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that helps maintain Virginia-Highland as one of the most livable urban communities in America. The VHCA leads and supports zoning and planning initiatives and other neighborhood improvements (ex: Orme Park and John Howell Park renovations and purchase/construction of North Highland Park, new trees, graffiti eradication, and street captain crime prevention programs). The VHCA also provides financial support to local parks, schools, public libraries, Trees Atlanta and other organizations serving Virginia-Highland residents.
