If you are flying during the holidays, you’re in luck! At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, you won’t have to forget about Facebook.  The social media site recently released a list of the world’s most “social” airports. Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was named the second most social.

Hartsfield gained this recognition because its travelers used Facebook to share their locations. Got to love the “Places” button!

LAX was listed as the number one most social airport. The other top contenders were Chicago O’Hare International Airport, San Francisco International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. To see the complete list, check out this Atlanta Business Chronicle article.

Hartsfield’s ranking came to no surprise to Atlantans. The city was ranked the second “most socially networked city,” according to an Atlanta Journal Constitution article. As a city where we pride ourselves on being connected, Atlanta has more Facebook and social media users per capita than many other cities.

This holiday, when traveling from Atlanta new homes, remember to use smart phones to “check-in” to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Maybe, Atlanta can rank number one next year!
