The local McGuinness family, in conjunction with American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Modern Luxury Interiors and SPAN-GA, is hosting The Love Stream on Saturday, April 11, 2020. This benefit, organized to help as many people as possible throughout the current global pandemic, consists of a one-of-a-kind live stream concert event.
Five local metro Atlanta musicians donated their time to the cause. Performing Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to midnight are the talented Charlie Starr, Coy Bowles, Blair Crimmins, Joe McGuinness and Levi Lowery. Each musician agreed to perform during an allotted time spot throughout the night to help raise awareness and support local business.
The event was created to help raise money for those hurt the most during the COVID-19 pandemic. All the money raised during the virtual concert will go towards purchasing gift cards from locally-owned restaurants, including Prime 120, Athens Pizza, Buteco, Foundation Social Eatery, Fortify Pi and Petit Chou. The gift cards will then go towards struggling families identified by social services professionals. This way, small businesses and families in need both benefit.
“The goal of The Love Stream is to help as many people as possible through this challenging time,” said McGuinness. “This is one of those efforts that only has an impact if you participate. We understand that not everyone has $100 to give, but maybe you have $50, $20 or $5.”
Anyone looking to donate can send any amount of money to the organization through Venmo (@LoveStream), CashApp ($LoveStream) or Paypal (GeorgiaSurvivors@gmail.com). All the proceeds will go towards buying gift cards to support local businesses and families in need.
“In the face of this unprecedented global crisis, all we ask of you is to give what you can, stay home and enjoy some awesome music for your efforts,” said McGuinness. “Our action (or inaction) will define how history tells our story.”
