Lauren Abernathy, senior director of marketing with The Battery Atlanta, is in the studio for this week’s Around Atlanta segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group talks about the exciting holiday events taking place at The Battery Atlanta, as well as those coming soon in 2021.
The Battery Atlanta serves as a lively live, work, play and stay environment that is home to everything from offices and hotels to dining and shopping destinations. Prior to coming on board at The Battery Atlanta, Abernathy spent nearly 25 years in the retail marketing industry where she became experienced in program development, public relations and strategic marketing. Since taking on the role of Senior Director of Marketing, she has loved building The Battery Atlanta from the ground up and turning the park’s gameday fan experience into one that takes place 365 days a year.
While the baseball season is one of the best times of the year to visit The Battery Atlanta, the holiday season ranks pretty close up there as well. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Battery Atlanta has traded its traditional Santa experience in lieu of Santa’s Post Office present by Truist Park. At Santa’s Post Office, children can hand deliver their letters to Santa and chat with him from a distance while parents take photos of the interaction. From the “Elves on Duty” posters to the gingerbread scents, The Battery Atlanta and Truist Park has put thought into all of the details to ensure Santa’s Post office is a magical experience for all who attend.
Looking towards the new year, The Battery Atlanta is thrilled to open two new highly anticipated venues: ASW Distillery and Fat Tuesdays. Abernathy also mentioned that Papa John’s will be taking over 60,000 square feet of office space for their corporate headquarters, meaning even more people will get to experience The Battery Atlanta and all that it has to offer. In a year where everyone has worked so hard to do so little, Abernathy is looking forward to starting this new chapter in 2021 and getting back to creating experiences for visitors to enjoy on gamedays and every day.
