What is your New Year’s resolution? Many residents at Soleil Laurel Canyon want to get into shape by trying something new. That’s why the active adult community in Canton is offering zumba and pilates classes.
Zumba will begin Friday, Jan. 6 and go through March. Residents will learn Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance moves. Led by Sandy Matthews, the class will seem like exercise in disguise! “Zumba doesn’t feel like exercise, it feels like a dance party,” explained Sandy. Classes will be 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of toning.
Pilates will begin on Thursday, Dec. 29 and go through the end of January. Residents who participate will increase their overall strength, flexibility and balance. These classes will also provide a cardio work-out and activate metabolism. Plus, pilates relieves stress and tension.
Zumba and pilates are not the only activities that the residents can enjoy. Soleil Laurel Canyon offers something for everyone. Located between the North Georgia mountains and Atlanta, the community’s Canton location allows for tons of outdoor recreation. The community features tennis courts, walking trails, a lake, a zero entry lagoon pool and bocce ball courts.
