The Aurora Awards, a design competition hosted by the Southeast Building Conference, honors excellence in building and design. On July 8, 2014, the Aurora Awards named Soleil Laurel Canyon the Best 50+ Retirement Community!
Soleil Laurel Canyon, an active adult community located in the rolling hills of the North Georgia Mountains, competed against similar projects from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Entries were judged by the following criteria:
- Appropriateness of materials for the market
- Architectural design
- Common areas
- Community entrance
- Floor plan function and design
- Interior merchandising and finishing
- Livability
- Overall master/site plan
- Recreational facilities
The 2014 award winners were selected by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
Due to their recent award recognition, Soleil Laurel Canyon is now eligible to win the Grand Aurora Award in its category. The winning entry will be showcased during the 2014 Aurora Awards Black Tie Gala on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Tallahassee, Fla.
