Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Pine Creek Construction, LLC for winning a Gold OBIE in the Kitchen over $50,000 category. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.
The client came to Pine Creek Construction with a desire for a more functional kitchen that would fit their needs. Their 1970’s Dunwoody kitchen was typical of houses from that era; narrow, dark and cut off from the rest of the home. The space that was functional was limited and cramped and the dining room connected to the kitchen was never used and took up valuable space.
As part of the remodel, the load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed and a flush mount steel beam was installed to make one large space for the new kitchen. Functional counter top space went from 43 square foot to 90 square foot, and the new 5×10 island is the centerpiece of the kitchen. The island houses a microwave, wine fridge and more storage on one side, and seating for five on the opposite side.
The 48″ double oven convection range is a favorite of the entire family, as well as the 6″ of depth added to the counter on the sink wall. Solid maple, inset cabinet doors and quartz counter tops were aldo added to keep the space clean and uncluttered. The laundry room was also updated with new cabinetry and shoe cubby space.
