As yet another year draws to a close, you may be wondering what New Year’s Eve Atlanta events are appropriate for the whole family. Although New Year’s Eve celebrations may sometimes appear to be activities for adults only, Underground Atlanta’s Peach Drop is a fun-filled family event.

The largest New Year’s Eve event in the Southeast, Peach Drop 2011 begins with children’s activities and entertainment from noon until 6 p.m. At 6 p.m., it’s time to move your family to the Peach Drop Main Stage for live entertainment and fireworks. The evening’s excitement will culminate as the renowned 800-pound peach descends from 138 feet in the air. Main Stage festivities last until 12:30 a.m.

Once the Peach drops, it’s time to tuck the kiddies in bed and move to Kenny’s Alley, Underground Atlanta’s premiere nightlife district, to dance the night away with more live entertainment, DJ’s and spectacular night clubs and bars. Partygoers can keep the celebrations going until 4 a.m.

This is a free event so no tickets are required to attend. However, if you’re planning on eating at one of the many delicious restaurants housed at Underground Atlanta, you may want to make reservations.
