Parkland Communities continues to experience rapid growth due to home builder demand for developed lots. To meet this need, Parkland Communities recently added two land acquisition team members – Richard Edwards and Joe Pressley.

“The unquenchable thirst for developed lots is fueling unprecedented growth for Parkland Communities,” Parkland Communities President Jim Jacobi said. “We are excited to welcome both Richard and Joe to our growing team and look forward to their contributions. We plan to hire more people soon, so stay tuned for more job announcements!”

Edwards and Pressley join the Parkland Communities land acquisition team. They are responsible for locating land for potential development, interfacing with landowners and due diligence on zoning and codes.

Richard Edwards

Richard Edwards headshot land acquisition for Parkland ResidentialPrior to joining Parkland Communities, Richard Edwards worked at Coldwell Banker Commercial for three years sourcing new land opportunities for the company to market. His role at Coldwell Banker Commercial allowed him to learn the land side of the business and solidified his passion for land.

Edwards holds an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia Military College.

A longtime resident of Fayette County, Edwards enjoys riding the golf cart trails with his niece and nephews and relishing in the beautiful greenery of Peachtree City and Fayetteville. He also enjoys baking and reading comics, philosophy and history books

Joe Pressley

Joe Pressley land acquisitions headshotJoe Pressley brings over 20 years of real estate knowledge and professional experience to Parkland Communities. He began his career as a landscape architect working for two of Atlanta’s top land planning firms. After a short stint as a staff planner with Cobb County, Pressley transitioned to perform acquisition and entitlement work for a local residential builder and developer.

During the recession, Pressley worked at United Community Bank where he managed over $30 million in bank owned assets and eventually became a Commercial Lending Vice President. From there, Pressley moved into real estate, partnering with a local builder to budget and permit over 400 residential homes.

Pressley attended the University of Georgia where he played college football and earned a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He is married and enjoys watching his daughter Carson play tennis and basketball.
