The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is excited to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2017. Since its inception in 1942, NAHB has been proud to serve America by building its communities and protecting the interests of those employed in the housing industry.

NAHB has been dedicated to communities for more than seven decades with only 465 members at its start. In 1944, the first NAHB Annual Convention and Exposition, which is known today as the International Builders’ Show, took place in Chicago. After World War II ended and veterans began returning home and starting families, NAHB stepped in to help with the increased demand for housing.

This led to the mass production of affordable homes, employment of countless veterans, alerting lawmakers to the interests of the industry and continued development as one of the largest trade associations in the United States.

Throughout 2017, NAHB will be commemorating this thrilling landmark in its history by honoring several decades’ worth of achievements. NAHB wants local home builders to share their milestones as part of the collective celebration of contributions to the home building industry to be shown during 2017.

NAHB looks forward to all that America’s housing industry employees will accomplish in 2017. To celebrate, NAHB encourages local home builders associations to recruit the home builders of tomorrow to join them.
