Atlanta kitchen renovation by Level Craft construction

The team at Level Craft Construction excels at renovating and reviving outdated historical homes. A 100% woman-owned business, this Atlanta renovation and custom-building company has been in business for more than 20 years, and is known for paying attention to detail and always striving for perfection. That fact is evident in every project they complete, including the renovation of this 1920s home in Candler Park.

This historical Craftsman-style house was in need of a little TLC, as well as more space for the growing family that called it home. The solution? Add an addition to the rear of the home, and give the rest of the space a facelift! Boasting 2,078 square feet of space, this beautiful home now has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and sits in an exceptional location between Candler and Freedom parks.

The Level Craft Construction team removed the rear exterior wall of the home, as well as the existing bedroom, kitchen and deck. To replace that space, the team added a gracious master suite that overlooks the peaceful wooded lot. An ensuite bathroom includes gray Carrera marble tile and a glass-enclosed shower, as well as a beautiful double vanity surrounded by an abundance of windows.

A new, gorgeous kitchen was added with an oversized island that is large enough for this family to gather around or for hosting. The Level Craft team installed a luxury appliance package including a Wolf cooktop and KitchenAid appliances including a wine cooler.

Beyond the new kitchen, French doors open to the rear deck. The homeowners desired a large outdoor living space that could be used in any season, and this porch checked all their boxes with its peaked roof, fireplace and screened area.

A laundry room was updated to be spacious enough for a folding surface to make laundry day a breeze! Plus, a shiplap wall was added to provide an interesting focal point, while built-in cabinets provide additional storage space and a sink allows for handwashing and cleaning delicates.

A welcoming entryway with a renovated fireplace greets visitors who step inside from the large front porch. The dark stone fireplace was painted bright white to match the shiplap above the mantle that extends to the coffered ceiling, and a built-in was added beside the fireplace for additional storage.

Finally, the home’s exterior was given a facelift to maximize curb appeal. A once dark and drab exterior was updated using bright white paint and popular Iron Ore-colored trim.

During the renovation, the Level Craft team took extreme care to restore the home’s original Craftsman features to keep the home’s character. The beautiful wood floors, doors and trim throughout the home were brought back to life and stand out even more now being surrounded by all the bright white paint.
