Our very own Leslie Williamson, marketing manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, was on last week’s Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Here’s a look at some of what she had to say about buying and selling in the Atlanta market:

Did you know that we offer mobile phone and iPad apps for homebuyers? We know that you’re not just searching for your new home from a desktop computer. Buyers today are always on the go, and we wanted to make it easier than ever for them to connect with real estate listings in their area. To find homes for sale near you, all you have to do is enter your desired zip code and our smart technology will display listings and photos within a few miles of your current location.

Of course, we also know that when you’re looking for a new home in Atlanta, you’re probably looking for homes in a specific submarket such as Buckhead or Alpharetta. Real estate is local and many of the submarkets in Atlanta are seeing positive trends including an increase in pending home sales. Many of the submarkets are also seeing an increase in prices, which may be due to the fact that many homes are receiving multiple contracts which end up driving up the home’s price.

The market downturn has brought home affordability levels back to reality. Sellers now have more reasonable expectations in setting prices, and buyers are starting to see that pricing is beginning to stabilize. These factors combined with historically low-interest rates mean that now is the time to buy!
