Atlanta’s first eco-friendly decorator’s show house is in its final week of public home tours. The Greenhaven home, built by Pace Homebuilders,  is a three-story, suburban home that features green products, building materials and techniques to make the home as eco-friendly as possible.

Greenhaven, located in the Cobb County new home community Chelsea Landing, has LEED for Homes certification and has received the EnergyStar, EarthCraft, American Lung Association Healthy House and National Wildlife Foundation’s Backyard Wildlife Habitat certifications as well. In addition, Greenhaven incorporates the Xeriscaping landscaping method, which means that the yard and other outdoor areas consume less water.

Greenhaven is the collaborative effort of over 20 designers and numerous vendors, all with the same goal in mind – to encourage others to go green in their own homes. As Atlanta’s model for green living, by touring the home you can get great ideas on how to easily and affordable incorporate green practices into your home renovations. This weekend is your last chance to tour the home, and in this final weekend, the builder and designers will be on-site to talk about the materials they used and make recommendations for you.
