Sherry Gasaway with KNOW Atlanta

Sherry Gasaway, publisher at KNOW Atlanta, is in studio for another episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Join co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick as they interview Gasaway on this Around Atlanta edition, and get the inside scoop on Atlanta’s hottest relocation guide.

Gasaway, an Atlanta native, started in real estate advertising over 27 years ago in the Atlanta market. After a few years in the industry, she got the opportunity to work with KNOW Atlanta and has worked at the magazine for the past 15 years.

“I thoroughly love what I do,” said Gasaway. “Every day is something different! From learning about new things in Atlanta to meeting builders, I really enjoy this role as publisher.”

KNOW Atlanta is a resource for companies and Realtors moving people to metro Atlanta, as well as individuals moving to the Atlanta area themselves. The relocation guide found its start almost 35 years ago due to major companies like Home Depot and Coca-Cola drawing in other businesses, workers and residents to Atlanta.

“There was no internet or literature on how to welcome people to the city,” said Gasaway. “From a human resource standpoint, Atlanta really needed something to answer basic questions like what’s the weather like? What housing opportunities are there? How are the schools? The guide was created to answer these questions and more to help those people moving to Atlanta.”

KNOW Atlanta not only produces a physical magazine for those in need of relocation guidance, but it also provides all its content online as well. Past issues and articles appear on the website for anyone who wants to dive deeper into what Atlanta has to offer.

Gasaway discusses several topics covered in the magazine, including key drivers that help people make the decision to move to Atlanta. For families with children, education and school systems are always at the top of the list. Public schools get looked at frequently, but many people moving to the area don’t realize there are over 200 private schools in the area. Several articles on the website and in the KNOW Atlanta magazine break down the advantages of education opportunities throughout Atlanta.

Another big category movers look into is affordability and housing options. When looked at regionally, Atlanta is still considered very affordable to many people looking to relocate. Gasaway also talks about the wide variety of housing options in Atlanta. Whether it’s location, price, size or style, an abundance of housing options are available ITP or OTP.
