Following his Gold OBIE win for the $700,000 to $799,000 Single-Family Builder – Detached category, Jim Chapman, president of Jim Chapman Fine Homes, tells Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio how excited he is to win this award.

Jim Chapman Fine Homes builds 10 to 15 homes in the $750,000-plus price range primarily in Buckhead. The house that won Jim this Gold OBIE was a home in One River Place, which is located behind Rays on the River. This community is a 10-home community on postage stamp-size lots, all bought by active adults. These homes sold anywhere from $750,000 to $850,000.

The award-winning home is an exquisite two-story brick and shake manor home that features a quaint, fenced, tumbled brick entryway showcasing gas lantern columns and a poured aggregate driveway. The front stain-grade door with a covered entry is a gateway into this charming master-on-the-main home that provides convenience and comfort for its aging-in-place buyer. The wainscoting-lined foyer draws you into the family room, which showcases a lovely constructed ceiling treatment. The gourmet kitchen, spacious breakfast area and owner’s retreat spill out onto the covered porch and private, tumbled brick outdoor living area, which features an outdoor spigot and gas connection for ease of watering plants and grilling with family and friends.

Winning this award means more to Jim than just an added trophy. “It means that my peers voted on me to win this and to get the recognition of this award in front of them in this price range…it’s a really special feeling” said Jim. In this upcoming year, Jim Chapman Fine Homes expects to build anywhere from 12 to 16 beautiful new homes.
