With more than 230 million active users and a value of nearly $35 billion, Twitter is an undeniable force in the social media world. And with 10 percent more U.S. adults using social media than those who own their home, Atlanta’s new home builders are realizing that having an active presence on social media is more important than ever.  Atlanta’s top 25 home builders (as ranked by Metrostudy through the third quarter of 2013) to see who had the largest following on Twitter. This infographic shows that top 25 home builders ranked in order of the number of followers each had on its company Twitter account as of Dec. 2, 2103.

Pulte Homes, which maintains a single national Twitter account, far surpassed the competition with more than 21,000 followers. Beazer Homes, which also maintains a national account, was a distant second with nearly 4,000 followers. Rounding out the top five was D.R. Horton’s national Twitter with more than 3,200 followers, Lennar Homes Atlanta with nearly 2,800 and Del Webb’s national account with nearly 2,000 followers.
