HomeAid Atlanta and three Atlanta-area businesses recently partnered for a series of Care Days at Haven ATL, the Salvation Army’s anti-trafficking center. BrightView Landscaping Company, Juneau Construction Company and Overhead Door Company of Atlanta each contributed efforts to improving and repairing the grounds and facilities at Haven ATL.

On June 6, BrightView Landscaping Company, a national partner of HomeAid America, joined HomeAid to improve the grounds at Haven ATL’s drop-in center. Juneau Construction Company partnered with HomeAid on June 9 to repair storm water damage, add new office walls and repaint. Finally, Overhead Door Company of Atlanta added walls and stained the exterior fence on June 10.

Through the efforts of HomeAid Atlanta and its partners, Haven ATL was spared $20,000 in expenses, including donations from BMC, Sherwin-Williams and The Home Depot.

“These groups made a huge impact at the facility, getting it much closer to opening its doors and serving women who desperately need assistance in order to escape the sex trafficking industry,” said Jean Hilyard of HomeAid Atlanta. “HomeAid Atlanta is honored to work with BrightView, Juneau Construction Company, and Overhead Door Company of Atlanta. Companies that promote volunteerism are so important in the fight against homelessness and for the people starting new lives.”

HomeAid Atlanta is seeking volunteers for one of their many scheduled Care Days. HomeAid Care Days allow local nonprofits to save money on repairs and improvements by using volunteers to complete the necessary work. Care Days are scheduled every month for the rest of the year.
