David Ellis, executive vice president of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA), was recently named the Executive Officer of the Year by the Professional Women in Building (PWB), a council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Ellis was nominated by Carol Morgan, a member of the Greater Atlanta HBA and the national PWB council’s 2014 Chair. Morgan says that Ellis was instrumental in the formation of the Atlanta council, which is now the largest local council in the nation. “It is hard to describe our gratefulness for David’s leadership as he enthusiastically endorsed the Atlanta PWB and its importance to the future of our local association,” she said.

As interested GAHBA members worked to form a local council, “David methodically assembled facts and information about the interest of and success of other councils and fully took the role of a leader by meeting with individual member leaders to encourage them to address all of their membership needs, including those of female members,” Morgan said. “David has also rallied behind PWB with all of our programs during the year, through his attendance, active engagement, and forefront announcements of our activities and accomplishments.”

Greater Atlanta HBA is one of more than 800 local associations throughout the United States that is dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the homebuilding industry as a viable economic force in the Atlanta area.
