Gabe Chatham Radio Atlanta Parade of Homes

Gabe Chatham, vice president of Chatham Neighborhoods and the 2020 president of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA), is in-studio for today’s Around Atlanta edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, Chatham discusses the upcoming Atlanta Parade of Homes and what attendees can expect from this year’s home lineup.

Founded by Chatham’s grandfather when he returned from serving in World War II in 1948, Chatham comes from a family of home builders now dating back three generations. What started out as a home built for his new family became a product of interest within the community. This interest led his grandfather to start the building company that stands strong today. As vice president, Chatham works alongside his father, two brothers and several members of his extended family. The family is honored to have the opportunity create new homes across the metro Atlanta area and continue the legacy that Chatham’s grandfather built within the community.

Chatham also currently serves as this year’s President of the Greater Atlanta HBA. His father held the position back in 1985 and Chatham is privileged to have the same opportunity to serve the organization’s many members consisting of associates, builders and developers. With all of the unique challenges that this year has brought, Chatham has remained focused on helping the organization’s members stay working and the industry remains essential. This includes continuing forward with the annual Parade of Homes.

Initially planned for April, the free, self-guided 2020 Atlanta Parade of Homes will take place the next three weekends of June. Airing on the side of caution, participating builders are taking extra precautions to make the event a safe environment for attendees.

This year’s Parade will feature tours of more than 100 homes, making it the biggest year the organization has seen. Homes on the tour fall into a variety pricepoints ranging from entry-level homes ideal for first-time homebuyers to large estate homes in exclusive neighborhoods. Each home showcases the latest and greatest in terms of style, floorplan and interior design, providing many remodeling ideas for those not necessarily looking to buy.

To help out first-time attendees, Chatham recommends downloading the ATL Homes Parade app from the app store. The app provides a list of each home on the tour along with a detailed description. Using the app, attendees can search homes based on location, as well as pricepoint to help them maximize their home tour experience.

When touring each home, attendees can also use the app to vote on features within each home. These votes will not only be used to award the winning builders, but it will also enter attendees into a giveaway for a chance to win incredible prizes donated by the event’s sponsors.
