A recent Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) study has big news for Forsyth County. The study indicates that the county’s population and employment ranks will more than double by 2040. The growth projections place Forsyth in the top five metro Atlanta areas in terms of population and job growth increase. These five metro areas are predicted to grow by 3 million people and add 1.5 million in new jobs by 2040. Between 2010 and 2040, Forsyth County is expected to grow by 114 percent to a population of 378,000. At the same time, the job growth for the county is estimated at 114 percent.

Today, the Forsyth County school system is growing by 1,700 students per year and leads the state in new student enrollment. The school district is the ninth largest of Georgia’s 180 school districts and its growing trend is expected to keep up with the ARC study.
