Redfin’s newly released list of the hottest neighborhoods in the country has ranked East Atlanta in the third spot! According to the nationally operating real estate brokerage, East Atlanta has attracted a new wave of buyers due to its diverse restaurant selection, trendy bars and boutiques.
According to Redfin’s Hottest Neighborhoods of 2015 list, East Atlanta is quickly becoming a distinctive neighborhood in the metro area, known for its unique and locally owned selection of restaurants, bars and retail shops. Located south of Little Five Points with convenient access to I-20, East Atlanta has attracted a new wave of young residents looking for an affordable living area that offers the fun and excitement of a big city. Locals and visitors rave about Joe’s, the locally owned coffee shop, the Argosy, Graveyard Tavern, the Midway Pub and Octopus Bar, which was voted Best Restaurant for Late-Night Eating in Creative Loafing’s 2013 Best of Atlanta issue. East Atlanta is also extremely popular for its music scene, with venues such as The Earl, 529 and The Basement becoming the go-to spots for local bands.
While East Atlanta was named the Best Neighborhood for Nightlife by Creative Loafing, there are also plenty of opportunities for families to establish a home. The area is populated by a wide variety of homes, including Victorians, Craftsman-style, bungalows and a continually developing line of new construction. Ormewood Park, located across from Moreland Avenue, provides a charming and quiet neighborhood for residents with close access to Grant Park, Zoo Atlanta and East Lake YMCA. East Atlanta is also a great place for community activities, such as the EAV Farmers Market, open every Thursday from April to December, and the East Atlanta Strut, a music and arts festival to benefit local charities.
