Warm up this weekend with thoughts of summer and sailing away to your favorite destination at Georgia’s premier boat show inside the Georgia World Congress Center. Doors are open today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If it’s for boating, you’ll find it there! Hundreds of new boats, including powerboats, center consoles, ski boats and personal watercraft, are on site, as well as booths showcasing the latest in engines, marine gear, electronics and accessories for everyone. With discounted boat show prices for everything you’ll find, this family event is one you won’t want to miss!

This year, boat enthusiasts will find several new and exciting opportunities for learning at the show. Between the seminars and hands-on learning experiences, there is something everyone will enjoy.

Feel free to test your boating skills with the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) Boating Skills Virtual Trainer (BSVT). Set out on a simulated boat trip to practice your boating skills such as docking, pivot turns, stopping and more. The BSVT is equipped with a steering wheel and real Mercury throttle to give you hands-on experience as you pilot your virtual boat on a lake with other powerboats, sailboats, navigation aids and a marina.

There is also a new Sailing Simulator as well. Find out just how hard it is to pilot a sailboat without ever having to leave dry land! Designed by a nuclear physicist in Italy, the simulation machine has a small boat on it with a fan in front of it to mimic natural wind. Anyone willing to pilot this simulator will learn all the ropes, you’ll tack and jibe and use the tiller to keep the boat level on the show floor as fans fill the sails and move the boat from side to side.

What is better than a boat show? Not much, except for listening to the wonderful unique mix of calypso, soca and steel pan music. The accomplished Caribbean performer, Frankendread, brings the island vibe to life with his energetic performances.

This all-day event will leave you feeling satisfied and possibly being the owner of a shiny new watercraft! Don’t forget to check out all of the wonderful vendors at the show introducing the newest and most effective accessories in boating.
