On today’s Around Atlanta edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, Kristie Ray, the Georgia Aquarium’s Director of Marketing, joins co-hosts Carol Morgan to promote the aquarium’s holiday events.
Ray has been with the Georgia Aquarium for five years. Prior to this, she worked in marketing for several shopping malls in Ohio. She says that a big draw for her to the aquarium was the opportunity to promote a nonprofit organization that gives back to the community and helps protect endangered species in addition to its status as a grand attraction.
One of the great things about the aquarium is that it is more than a “one and done” attraction, says Ray. There is always something new to experience and learn there. In the past year, the aquarium has added a California sea lion exhibit, a brand-new dolphin presentation focusing on the connection between the animals and trainers. As always, visitors can tour the huge, breathtaking indoor displays.
Attendees can also experience the animals in an entirely new way. Guests can take part in the parties and sleepovers hosted by the aquarium or dive with the animals. Visitors can even meet a penguin or a sea otter up close.
Currently, the Festival of the SEAson has transformed the entire aquarium into a winter wonderland. The Festival of the SEAson began on November 18 and will run through New Year’s Eve. During the Festival of the SEAson, visitors can participate in several exciting events and opportunities, including meeting Santa Claus, watching SCUBA Claus dive and a light and music show in the Atrium called Holidazzle.
This Saturday, the aquarium is hosting Breakfast with Santa with special appearances by the whale sharks, manta rays and more. Buy tickets before they sell out here. Catch A Symphony of Snow, happening every weekend. View The Polar Express in a 4D experience, included in aquarium admission. For ages 21 and over only, join the celebration and support endangered African penguins by attending Sips Under the Sea on New Year’s Eve.
The excitement continues once the holidays are over. On January 19, a new exhibit featuring puffins and Atlanta sea birds will be opening, so be sure to join the aquarium for its opening.
