Davidson Homes, a rapidly growing home builder based in Huntsville, today announced it has bolstered its leadership team with the promotion of Greg Duriez to chief operating officer and the appointment of Jeff Deane as chief financial officer.
“Both executives strengthen our company as we continue our focused, organic expansion strategy of building in fast-growing, thriving communities in the South that offer homebuyers an appealing quality of life,” said Adam Davidson, founder, president and CEO of Davidson Homes.
“These appointments are also a direct reflection of the success and appeal of our company’s strategy, momentum and ability to retain, reward and attract incredibly talented leaders. Greg Duriez is a proven, homebuilding veteran who is a trusted member of our executive team and has been instrumental in our growth. Jeff’s extensive experience in finance, accounting and operations in our industry will be invaluable as we expand into new markets.”
“It is an honor to take on this new role, and I want to thank Adam for this exciting opportunity,” said Duriez. “I am excited about the future and to continue working closely with Adam and our division presidents to grow our presence in each local market and identify new opportunities for expansion.”
“Adam is an exceptionally successful entrepreneur and leader and has built an amazing company,” said Deane. “His passion and long-term vision are what drew me to Davidson Homes. I look forward to working with Adam and Greg as the company moves forward with its next stage of growth.”
Duriez, who previously served as regional president, has more than 30 years of experience in the new home industry. Before joining Davidson Homes, Duriez was the Atlanta division president for Century Communities. He has worked for Pulte Homes, NVR Ryan Homes and KB Home. Duriez will oversee all ongoing operations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas and direct the company’s expansion into additional Southeast markets.
Deane brings 26 years of accounting, finance and operations experience to his role at Davidson Homes. Prior to joining the company, Deane had worked in homebuilding since 2005 with William Lyon Homes where he served in several leadership roles in finance, accounting and operations. Deane’s positions included vice president/regional controller, vice president of corporate accounting and finance, and vice president/division manager.
Davidson Homes was given Builder magazine’s “Biggest Mover” award in recognition of it being the fastest-growing home builder (ranked by percentage growth in closings) in the country in 2020. The company ranks #93 on the 2021 Builder 100 list of the largest home builders in the U.S.
Davidson Homes currently owns or controls more than 8,000 lots in 73 communities in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The company announced in April that it had entered the Texas market and has begun building in several communities in Houston. Texas is the fourth state the company has entered during the past four years.
