Nationwide, Houston, Texas-based David Weekley Homes has won more than 850 awards for product design and nearly 1,465 awards overall. On Saturday, October 21, its Atlanta Division added four more to the trophy case. Designed to celebrate “Outstanding Achievements in Homebuilding,” the Greater Atlanta Home Builder Association’s (GAHBA) 43rd Obie Awards were hosted at the Georgia Aquarium. Design excellence, community involvement, and personal performance were listed among those outstanding achievements for which David Weekley Homes’ Atlanta Division was recognized.

“Ever since our launch in 1976, David Weekley Homes has been committed to living out our brand promise by providing our Customers with the best in Design, Choice, and Service,” said Adam Cornett, Atlanta Division President for David Weekley Homes. “With three of the Obie Awards for which we were recognized, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association let us know that we’re making good on that commitment. And with philanthropy and volunteerism being a foundational pillar of our company, recognizing our efforts in that arena means the world. We are thankful to our friends at the GAHBA for providing this forum year after year, and we’d like to congratulate our fellow honorees for their achievements.”

During the 43rd Obie Awards, David Weekley Homes – Atlanta Division – received the following honors:

  • Rookie of the Year: Savannah Gasaway – A newbie to real estate and the home building industry, Gasaway has adapted beautifully to the role of Sales Consultant. During her first year, she was instrumental in closing out to communities and launching a third.
  • Gold Award for Best Interior Design: The Model Home at Ellis, Featuring the Cobbstone Floor Plan – Warm, stunning, and sophisticated at every turn, David Weekley Homes’ design team employed a highly effective transitional design and merchandised it in a way that beautifully highlights the strong architectural details of the home.
  • Gold Award for Best Design Center – The tranquil and ideally organized setting of this newly unveiled 1,400-square-foot Design Center enhances the sense of enthusiasm as buyers explore thousands of design options to create their new home.
  • Silver Award for Community Service – From blood drives to food drives to school supply drives, the Atlanta Division participated in 10 community service initiatives between June 2022 and June 2023. Among them included donating $5,300 in school supplies to a local school and food to feed 2,800 people during the holiday season.

Launched in 1980, The OBIE Awards have grown to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing, and personal achievement categories into which its members can enter. Named after the award’s obelisk shape, The OBIE Awards are the premier awards in the new home construction industry. OBIE Award recipients stand out among their peers and are recognized for their outstanding achievements in new home building, marketing, remodeling, and personal achievement categories.
