The Chatham Company is pleased to announce that David Chatham was inducted into the Home Builders Association of Georgia’s (HBAG) Hall of Fame during its recent awards ceremony.

The most prestigious award presented by the HBAG, the Hall of Fame award is given as a lifetime achievement award recognizing decades of commitment. The past recipients of this award act as the verification committee for new recipients, and they guard the program’s integrity with deliberative thought and attention.

“To succeed in residential development, you need a strong foundation that can last through good times and bad,” says David Chatham. “We’ve built that through faith in God and an incredible group of staff associates, Realtors, builders, and vendors.”

“Now in its third generation, this family uses its experience and knowledge to continue helping people invest, sell, build, or buy a new house,” said Chatham.

The Hall of Fame Committee considers participation at all three levels of the federation (local, state and national), industry and business accomplishments, community engagement, and personal sacrifice and service to HBAG. Individuals are nominated by their local HBA, and there are separate Hall of Fame recognitions for builder and associate members.

Lamar Smith presented this year’s award as the last Hall of Fame award recipient in 2021 and Chair of the committee. He stated, “In my view, his greatest accomplishments are the third generation of builders sitting at the table with him tonight, one of which will be a new senior officer for HBAG.”

Chatham is a Past President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA), has been named Builder of the Year by his local HBA and has been inducted into his local HBA’s Hall of Fame. He has recruited hundreds of members to his local HBA over the years.

He has served the state association as a Life Director and an active member of the Regulatory Affairs Committee, Government Affairs Committee, and Builder Action Fund. He has served as the HBAG State Convention Chair.

On the national level, Chatham has been a member of the land development committee, the 55+ council, the custom home builder council, and as a senior life director representing his local HBA.

The Chatham Company is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The home builder has also been named the 2021 Southern Living Builder of the Year and Modern Homebuilding Magazine’s 2020 Builder of the Year, among others.
