With two full moons this month and the Perseid meteor shower peaking on August 11, now is the perfect time for families of Atlanta new homes to cool off and enjoy starry summer nights.
Here are just a few of the events that can light up your life this month:
- August 10: Peresid Meteor Shower watching at Stephen C. Foster State Park in Fargo from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m.
- August 18: “Wagging Trails” Nighttime Fog Hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Leash up your four-legged friend for a two-and-a-half mile walk along whitewater rapids and Civil War era ruins.
- August 25: Enjoy an evening paddle on Allatoona Lake at Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- August 31: The Blue Moon Paddle at James H. Floyd State Park in Summerville from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. will have you gazing at the first blue moon in almost three years.
