The Flowery Branch community of Sterling on the Lake is hosting its annual Roll ‘n Stroll parade and tree lighting in Old Town next Saturday, December 7 beginning at 2 p.m. Open to everyone in the community with their decorated bikes, trikes and strollers, the parade is the perfect start to the Christmas season.

During the festival, a silent auction will take place in the train depot with proceeds benefiting the Flowery Branch Police Department’s annual Shop with a Cop program. Santa will also make an appearance in the depot beginning at 2:30 p.m., and the first 200 children will receive a free 4×6 photograph with jolly St. Nick himself. Parents can also take their own photo for free, or purchase a professional photograph from Santa’s elves.

Attendees at the festival can shop for unique Christmas gifts from the holiday vendors, and children can make their own s’ mores at an open fire on the lawn grounds or enjoy the bounce house. Beginning just after 5 p.m., the Hopewell Baptist Choir will sing Christmas carols until the tree lighting, which will happen at 6 p.m.
