A lively hub of culture, great schools, community and history, Marietta has endless local gems to offer and Atlanta residents can take it all in at this weekend’s Marietta Streetfest on the Marietta Square. On today’s Around Atlanta segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, Carolyn Morris, director of the Marietta Streetfest, joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to promote the attractions at the Marietta Streetfest.

Benefitting the Marietta Museum of History, the Marietta Streetfest is celebrating its 26th year. All weekend, guests can enjoy free admission to the Marietta Museum of History, where they can experience exhibits for every age and fascination. Morris has been involved with planning the festival since its inception. A free event, this year’s festival will feature activities for all ages and interests, including an art market, a Grassroots Music Festival, a walk/run for children, kids’ entertainment, a kids’ zone, car show, food and more.

The Artist Alley and Jewelry Row will showcase the work of nearly 70 local artists and include all types of works, from textiles to jewelry, sculptures and more. Guests can purchase art and hear more from the artist about the work. Music lovers will not want to miss the Grassroots Festival that showcases local talent. On Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., Marietta residents can bring their picnic blankets and lawn chairs to the square to enjoy music created in Marietta.

Parents and children alike will love participating in the one-mile Toy Box Trot Fun Run on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., where attendees can walk, run and get moving. At the end of the race, kids can choose a prize from the toy box. Kids can also get hours of amusement from crafts, games, a cardboard city playground, inflatables, dancing, juggling and more.

Guests will love browsing through the Hubcaps and History Car Show of classic vehicles on Saturday and motorcycles and military vehicles on Sunday. See classic cars on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and military vehicles on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Finally, no festival is complete without great food, and guests will get a taste of the fantastic cuisine on the Marietta Square, additional food trucks and carnival food booths.
