Fred Castellucci

From beef ravioli and eggplant parmesan to tapas and mushroom patty melts, Castellucci Hospitality Group offers regional dishes from around the world. On today’s Around Atlanta episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, we have the man behind six drool-worthy restaurants in the Atlanta area. Co-hosts Todd Schnick and Carol Morgan are joined by Fred Castellucci, President of Castellucci Hospitality Group, as he gives details about each restaurant and future plans to expand.

Castellucci comes from a restaurant family, the first restaurant dating back to Rhode Island in the early 20th century. What eventually led to Castellucci Hospitality Group was his pure passion for food, hospitality and building strong relationships with people. Castellucci Hospitality Group is ten years old and offers six different restaurant concepts. The first restaurant, Sugo, opened its doors in 2003 with the statement, “Sugo is a tribute to those who came before us.” With an inspiring blend of unique family-style dishes, Sugo is still known for its authentic cuisine and gracious hospitality.

After the success of Sugo, Castellucci began expanding business throughout Atlanta offering a variety of authentic cuisines. In 2009, the infamous Iberian Pig became Decatur’s prime destination for tapas and in 2010 Double Zero was constructed with inspiration from southern Italy. From there, several projects began to sprout, from the opening of Cooks and Soldiers to the mini Iberian Pigs being placed around the Mercedes Benz stadium. Recess and Bar Mercado are also two restaurants that have recently been on Atlanta’s radar.

Fresh on the scene, Bar Mercado on Krog Street is named appropriately for its location inside of a market and for its menu which features the greatest hits of Spanish cuisine. Also, on Krog Street, Recess offers a nutritious, vegetable-centric perspective on meals. What makes this spectacular restaurant different from salad places and juice bars? Tune in to find out!

Castellucci Hospitality Group is taking the Atlanta food market by storm and they’re not finished yet! They are finally breaking into the Buckhead market and you’ll be surprised and thrilled as to what they are bringing with them.
