Stone Mountain Christmas is today’s Around Atlanta guest on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio guest. Jeanine Jones, the public relations manager with Stone Mountain Park, is on hand to discuss the exciting holiday festivities taking place at the park, including Stone Mountain Christmas and Snow Mountain.
Located just 15 miles east of Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park is right in most metro Atlanta residents own backyard, although its 32,000 acres feel as if they’re a world away. The park includes a variety of attractions, including golf courses, two Marriott hotels, the Summit Skyride, camping and various recreation opportunities, such as hiking the mountain or biking around the mountain.
During the holidays, Stone Mountain hosts one of its most popular attractions, Stone Mountain Christmas and Snow Mountain. The holiday spectacular includes two million lights at Crossroads, a quaint village located at the bottom of the mountain. It takes park employees from the end of the July Fourth celebration until the day Stone Mountain Christmas opens to place all two million lights in the village!
Open now through Jan. 4, 2015, Stone Mountain Christmas includes a variety of live shows, the Singalong Train, the Snow Angel Palace and a nightly parade beginning at 6 p.m. that features Rudolph, the abominable snowman, Santa, the Snow Angel an much more. Visitors can also enjoy Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas 4-D film.
Stone Mountain Park visitors can also enjoy Snow Mountain, Atlanta’s only snow park, now through Feb. 22, 2015. The park begins blowing in snow in October to prepare for the winter fun, which includes tubing lanes and snow play areas. After spending time in the snow, visitors can warm up by the fire while they roast marshmallows.
For visitors coming to Stone Mountain’s holiday festivities for the first time, Jeanine suggests being there when the attractions open at 2 p.m. Be sure to plan ahead and know what shows you and your family would like to see, and then plan your trip accordingly.
Snow Mountain tickets are available for $28 per person and include two hours of tubing time and unlimited time in the snow play areas. Stone Mountain Christmas passes are available for $19.95 for children ages 3 through 11 and $24.95 for adults. Combo passes are also available for $44.95.
