Brian Kemp, Georgia’s Secretary of State, is this week’s guest on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Brian talks about the various tasks his office is charged with, and his interview is followed by a discussion with Geoff Lee of Road Atlanta.

Brian Kemp is not only Georgia’s Secretary of State, but also a small business owner from Athens.

The Secretary of State’s office is charged with handling multiple tasks including registering corporations, handling professional licensing, regulating securities portfolios valued up to $100 million and acting as the chief elections official for the state. When it comes to licensing and small business, Brian knows that Georgia needs to create a good business-friendly environment that will continue to attract large corporations and businesses from out of state, but he is also conscious of the fact that more than 95 percent of the corporations in our state employ less than 50 people. This means his ultimate goal is not to over regulate, but to let businesses do what they do best.

Our next guest is Geoff Lee who is the President and General Manager of Road Atlanta. Geoff is a former  race car driver who decided to step out of the driver’s seat of the race car and into the leading role of motor sports businesses.

Road Atlanta was started back in the 1970s by a few farmers and a tractor. Today, it is one of the most iconic racing tracks internationally that racers from across the globe love to come to because of its unique challenges and features. While road Atlanta does offer races for motorcycles, sports cars, NASCAR and the likes, you can also come to the facility to participate in America’s premier high performance driving school, the Skip Barber Racing School.

If you’re looking for a good reason to come explore this hidden gem, don’t miss the upcoming Petit Le Mans on October 16 through 19. This is Georgia’s largest annual international sporting event, and it will feature 10 straight hours of racing from competitors in multiple classes. And, as will all events at Road Atlanta, kids 12 and under can get in free!
