On this week’s Around Atlanta edition of the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show, Chris Carsten joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to discuss the Tony nominated performance of A Christmas Story: The Musical coming soon to Atlanta.

Chris Carsten, actor with Big League Productions, has performed all over the country and internationally for more than 20 years and will appear for the third time in A Christmas Story: The Musical this holiday season.

The classic story depicts the efforts of young Ralphie Parker who is on a quest to ensure that the perfect Christmas gift, a Red Ryder BB Gun, is under his tree this year. The story follows Ralphie experience an array of complications and scenarios while on his pursuit of this perfect gift, most of which takes place in Ralphie’s colorful imagination.

Carsten, who plays Ralphie’s inner voiceover Jean Shepard, explains what makes this rendition of A Christmas Story different from the 1983 original feature film. For starters, his voiceover character actually makes a physical appearance onstage as a character rather than a bodyless voice. According to Carsten, The Musical version of A Christmas Story follows the original script almost perfectly, aside from the many spectacular musical numbers.

“It’s everything you expect to see when you see a Broadway musical,” said Carsten. “Except that this one is a traveling show.”

A Christmas Story: The Musical is presented by Big League Productions and will appear at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre November 29 through December 4.
