The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) and the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) is excited to share the latest updates regarding the upcoming 2020 OBIE Awards including discounts for first-time entrants and deadline extensions. Taking place on Saturday, October 24, 2020, the 40th Annual OBIE Awards acknowledge outstanding achievements in building, marketing, remodeling and personal achievements.
In the interest of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the Greater Atlanta HBA and Atlanta SMC have adjusted all judging for the 2020 OBIE Awards to take place virtually with extended deadlines. To accommodate marketing budgets that are currently frozen, entrants may submit a $100 nonrefundable deposit for each entry to be paid in full by Friday, July 24 at 5 p.m.
The revised calendar for the 2020 OBIE Awards is as follows:
- Intent to Enter Deadline: May 22, 2020
- Entry Material ID’s emailed: June 1, 2020
- Entry Materials and Photography Deadline: July 17, 2020
- Online Judging: July 27 through 31, 2020
- Personal Achievement Awards Phone Interviews: July 30 or 31, 2020
- 2020 OBIE Awards at the Georgia Aquarium: October 24, 2020
The OBIE Awards, named after the obelisk shape of the actual award presented, began in 1980 and have grown to include more than 100 home building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. Considered a premier award in the new home construction industry, OBIEs are given to recognize outstanding accomplishments.
Awards to be presented include Community of the Year, Sales Manager of the Year, Marketing Team of the Year and Mortgage Professional of the Year, to name a few. By just entering the esteemed awards program, experts in the building industry gain recognition, attract personal opportunities and the chance to display awards for potential homebuyers to see.
For the 40th Annual OBIE Awards, the Greater Atlanta HBA and Atlanta SMC are offering discounts for first-time entrants, as well as multiple-entry discounts. The prices are as follows:
- $300 per entry
- $200 per entry if the company (the name that will go on award) has never entered before
- $275 for 3 or more entries
- $500 for Community of the Year
To take full advantage of the special pricing, participants are instructed to utilize select promo codes. Use promo code “OBIE3” when entering three or more categories.
