Atlanta SMC donates to HomeAid Atlanta

The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, a council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, started the year by presenting HomeAid Atlanta with a $10,000 check! The SMC presented the check to HomeAid at its February 7 program meeting. The money represents the proceeds raised during the 2018 Silent Auction, held annually as part of the HBA’s holiday party.

“I’m proud of the Atlanta SMC’s choice to donate the proceeds of our silent auction to HomeAid Atlanta again this year,” said Edsel Yera, Atlanta SMC Secretary/Treasurer. “I have enjoyed being on the Atlanta SMC’s silent auction committee for the last few years, and I’ve learned a lot about HomeAid’s mission. HomeAid relies on donations like this one to achieve its goal of building housing facilities to help people get back on their feet, and I’m grateful to have helped make this donation possible.”

To date, Atlanta SMC has raised over $100,000 in support of people in need over the past 20 years.

“We are so grateful to be the recipient of the proceeds of this annual event,” remarked Mandy Crater, HomeAid Atlanta Executive Director. “We are proud to be the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and to work with such generous building industry professionals. We were able to touch the lives of over 2,500 people in need last year, and we are excited to put these dollars to work to do even more to build new lives in 2019!”
