Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Copper Sky Renovations for winning a Gold OBIE in the Bathroom Renovation over $25,000 category. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

This bathroom was in need of a serious update as it was in its original state from a 1960s house. The clients were a newly married couple and had purchased their first home. The first step in creating their dream house was to revamp the owner’s bathroom area.

The old owner’s bathroom had carpet that ran into a portion of the bathroom, which was open to the bedroom. To allow for better privacy, Copper Sky Renovations installed a wall with a door between the bathroom and bedroom and a porcelain tile that looks like marble throughout to lighten up the previous dingy yellow/brown look. The new tile and white walls added a light airy feel to the bathroom.

The room was capped off with matte brass fixtures throughout. This made the bathroom pop, similar to jewelry. Brass has made a comeback and feels current with the matte and modern style of the fixtures. The slate floor tile provides a nice contrast to all of the white in the bathroom. The spacious walk-in shower creates a spa-like feel to it. It was plumbed for multiple fixtures for a two-person shower.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 38th anniversary in 2018. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. The OBIE Awards are named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given.
