sitting room in a renovated home

The exceptional team at Level Craft Construction excels at renovating and restoring beautiful Atlanta homes that are in need of a little bit of love and attention. While most of the homes the Level Craft team works on are well-loved by its owners, they often need updating to fit the needs of how we live today. That was the case with this charming four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Decatur. The Level Craft team added a two-car garage and accessory dwelling unit for this client in 2016 and was thrilled to work with them once again on this new project!

Originally built in 1925, this home had a great structure but didn’t fit the needs of the owners. But with its fantastic location in a great neighborhood, the owners didn’t want to leave the home. That’s where Level Craft stepped in. The renovation of this 2,141-square-foot home started with the exterior. Visitors are now welcomed by a cheery green door, which peeks out from the beautiful landscaping that surrounds the home.

Stepping inside the entryway, you’re greeted by an abundance of color! Gorgeous blue painted walls capped by fun wallpaper contrast with the antique French light fixture that centers the sitting room. Several large windows let an abundance of natural light into the room, highlighting the rich colors of the space.

Just off the entryway, a fun powder bath continues the blue and wallpaper theme. A gold floral print with cherry blossoms and squirrels by British designer Juliet Travers covers the entire space, and a beautiful sink and gold wall sconces tie into the gold sheen found in the wallpaper.

From here, the home continues into the open kitchen and great room. The kitchen boasts modern stainless steel appliances, an oversized island and white upper cabinetry. Continuing the blue theme, the lower cabinets are painted a medium shade of blue with accents of gold hardware and light fixtures. The cabinets are topped by stunning Cambria quartz countertops that continue up as the backsplash, stretching all the way to the ceiling above the stove and creating a showstopping centerpiece in the kitchen. Connected to the kitchen is the open great room complete with an abundance of built-in shelving, providing much-needed storage space.

The owner’s suite in this home was renovated in a less bold color palette, providing a soft, comfortable place to unwind and relax. A custom wood built-in provides additional storage beyond the bedroom’s walk-in closet, while a wood-burning fireplace with a tile surround creates warmth throughout the space. The unique use of wood wall treatments throughout the home continues on the ceiling, which includes another beautiful vintage French chandelier. As part of the owner’s suite, the bathroom was renovated to include a luxurious tiled shower and a spacious bath, featuring gold-colored hardware, fun green cabinetry and marble tile.

While renovating the rest of the rooms in the home, the Level Craft team included character within each space, mixing rich colors and muted tones with beautiful hardwood floors and natural light. For instance, one of the secondary bedrooms features a deep blue accent wall, while another bedroom includes a teal accent wall.

The home also features a rustic mudroom leading to the back porch and yard, providing the perfect spot for coats and outdoor necessities. Next to the first bathroom, there is also a convenient installation to hang keys, purses or wallets and a state-of-the-art Smart Technology thermostat located for easy access.

The screened-in back porch is the perfect place to spend summer nights and cool fall mornings enjoying the local scenery and spending time with loved ones. The protective screen allows the homeowners to relish the outdoors without the hindrance of pesky bugs and the elements.

The Level Craft team enjoyed working with this homeowner to make their dream a reality. To see more of Level Craft Construction’s renovations in Atlanta, view a list of their projects here.
