Animal rescue organization Canine Pet Rescue (CPR) hosts its largest fundraising event (Bikeless) Barks, Bar-B-Q and Brews this Saturday, November 7 from 11:30 a.m. til 2:30 p.m. at Big Sky Farm in Dacula, Ga. Due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) this event was postponed from its original May date and this year there will not be a motorcycle ride.
There will be plenty of BBQ and good times. And the weather is predicted to be a lovely 70-degree fall day. Lincoln Fill Station is back this year serving beers. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and spend a socially distanced lunch watching dog demos, listening to music, and much more. Families and well-mannered, leashed and vaccinated pets are also welcome!
Barks, Bar-B-Q and Brews is held at Big Sky Farm/Canine Pet Rescue located at 2625 Jones Philips Road, Dacula, Ga. 30019.

Registration is $20 for virtual riders and includes lunch and a t-shirt. BBQ meals are $10 for adults and $5 for children. T-shirts can also be purchased separately for $15.
Proceeds from the event benefit CPR and support ongoing operations including veterinary care for dogs in the rescue. Carla Brown, President and Chief Dog in Charge of Canine Pet Rescue states, “The majority of the money spent by Canine Pet Rescue goes to veterinary bills. The dogs we rescue have typically been out on their own for awhile and have health issues that are costly that need to be addressed before we can place them in their forever homes.”
The event is held in memoriam of the late Trey Phillips, a local attorney, who was a CPR volunteer and participated in the BBB ride. Trey was a decorated Army veteran who was killed in 2012 on Hwy 316 while riding his motorcycle.

More About Canine Pet Rescue
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Canine Pet Rescue survives and thrives on donations. It focuses on saving German Shepherds from high-kill shelters in the South but also takes in other breeds as well. Dogs that enter the Canine Pet Rescue facilities are crate trained, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and treated with flea and heart worm preventative care. Once given basic care and treatment, the dogs are put through an extensive temperament evaluation and offered for adoption.
