Aja Caffey at Rocklyn Homes Named 2020 Rookie Salesperson of the Year

Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Aja Caffey with Rocklyn Homes for being named the 2020 Rookie Salesperson of the Year at the 40th Annual OBIE Awards. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given to those working in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Community Sales Manager at Stone Mill, Aja combined customer service experience with her business skills and a passion for residential real estate to become a sales powerhouse for Rocklyn Homes.

“For buyers, any home will have its pros and cons,” Aja said. “What matters is the perspective I help them bring to those concerns. Sometimes you have to be willing to give it all up to get what you want.”

Her drive, focused execution and passion for the work make her the perfect choice for Rookie Salesperson of the Year. With a dollar value of $10,455,000 from June 2019 to June 2020, Aja closed 51 homes/lots.

Success in real estate has been a double blessing for Aja. It’s given her the opportunity to help deserving people purchase beautiful new homes and provided a comfortable life for her once-homeless children. A California native who moved to Marietta as a child, she has never been afraid of hard work. Her single mom struggled, so Aja began working at a hair salon at age 13, adding a second job as a bartender in later years.

In 2019, she got her real estate license and worked for a broker but didn’t feel supported. While bartending, she met Rocklyn Homes President David Jenkins who encouraged her to join his company, and Aja jumped at the opportunity.

As an assistant at Keystone Gates, Aja’s eagerness to learn matched perfectly with the builder’s focus on education.

“They gave me the knowledge I needed to sell,” Aja said.

She learned how to present herself and how to communicate with clients and spent lots of time on construction sites. When Keystone Gates closed out, Aja became the assistant at Stone Mill. Weeks into her new position, the Community Sales Manager left, and she took over. Her remarkable success was especially notable during a global pandemic.
