Traditions of Braselton, an 1140-acre master-planned community, boasts a collection of new homes from several notable builders. Because of the struggles many families are facing in the wake of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Traditions of Braselton is giving back to the community in a unique way.
Three years ago, a Traditions of Braselton resident received a second chance at life after a massive heart attack. To celebrate this, the community launched Sheila Fest. This annual two-day event is composed of a golf tournament, charity dinner and an outdoor music festival. All of the proceeds earned from the event are given to iServe Ministries and the families the nonprofit organization helps. This year, the golf tournament and charity dinner will take place on Friday, October 23, preceding the music festival on Saturday, October 24.
“I can’t think of a better way to show our love and support for Sheila Anderson while raising money for a great cause, bringing neighbors together for some good times and introducing the local community to a bit of what makes Traditions of Braselton so special,” said Bryan Allen, general manager for the community. “Given that it’s outdoor and our event lawn is so large, it will be easy for families to spread out and observe social distancing. The one thing that will remain unchanged is that we’ll all get to enjoy music from great local musicians for a good cause. It promises to be a good time and we hope the community and anyone considering a move to Traditions of Braselton will come out to join us.”
Kicking off Sheila Fest is the golf tournament at the 18-hole Traditions of Braselton Golf Club. Non-members are welcome to participate for $125 per golfer or $250 per team. In addition, there are several levels of sponsorship available for purchase. Select sponsorships include a golf tournament entry and tickets to the charity dinner. After the tournament ends, the Clubhouse at Traditions of Braselton will host the Sheila Fest Charity Dinner. Starting at 6 p.m., the dinner consists of a full-service dinner and drinks for $25. Restrictions are in place due to COVID-19 and as a result, only limited tickets will be available for this portion of Sheila Fest. The dinner also includes a live, silent auction. The weekend event concludes with a full day of music on the Traditions of Braselton Event Lawn. Gates open to the public at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person when purchased online at www.SheilaFest.com or $30 per person at the door. Guests are allowed to bring their own chairs, tents and alcoholic beverages, but food vendors will also be at the event.
The festival includes music from The Journey Tribute Band – Departure, A Tribute to Foreigner – Head Games, The Music of Neil Young – Harvest Moon, Redneck Blonde, Drop Tailgate, Dixie Duncan, Gypsy Belle and The Manly Hero. In addition to music, the festival includes a kids’ zone, a petting zoo and vendors.
