The Piedmont Park Conservancy is humbled and grateful to see the Park thrive as an outdoor retreat for the people of Atlanta. The Conservancy is committed to bringing resources to the community when they need them most.
Although many of the park programs have been impacted by COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Conservancy has adapted its offerings to engage Atlanta citizens.
- The Green Market, a local farmers market, is operating in a new temporary location behind Park Tavern with social distancing guidelines to keep customers safe.
- The summer camp and field trip programs have been put on hold for health and safety, but the Conservancy’s Programs team has pivoted to creating quality online content to help keep children engaged and learning throughout the summer through a new Instagram page @piedmontlearns.
- Piedmont Park’s venues are offering elopement packages so celebrations of love don’t have to wait.
- As always, the Conservancy’s Operations team is on the ground keeping the Park green, beautiful and safe.
Piedmont Park has existed for over 100 years and has been through many difficult times. The resiliency and adaptability of beautiful, open green space is never more evident. The Conservancy is thrilled to see so many new visitors experience the power of green space on their mental and physical health.
The Park is a great place to run or walk, walk your dog, throw a frisbee, play kickball, fly a kite, practice yoga, read a book, have a picnic and much, much more. It is also a great place to get in tune with nature with still social distancing.
