The winners selflessly gave their time, resources, and expertise in 2019 in support of HomeAid Atlanta’s work.

This award is presented for outstanding service in support of HomeAid. Steven Sanders-Myers led four HomeAid Care Days in 2019, volunteering with fellow Brightwater Homes employees and members of Resonate Church Atlanta. Thanks to his participation, nearly $25,000 was saved for nonprofits providing housing and services for Atlanta’s homeless population.

“I believe that all people are my neighbors and I strive to treat everyone that way,” said Sanders-Myers after a 2019 Care Day. “God has given me knowledge and abilities to build houses, and that is one of the most effective ways that I can help those in need.”

Ryan Swallow led HomeAid’s interior renovation of an eight-unit apartment building at Roswell’s Drake Village. His efforts allowed eight homeless single mothers and their children to have a safe place to rebuild their lives.

“It’s one thing to help out for just a day, but to see this project come to fruition and see the first families move in really brought home to me the value of giving,” said Swallow.
