Local home builder associations are an excellent way for home builders and associates to get involved within the residential construction industry. Executive Officer with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) Corey Deal joins a bonus All About Real Estate episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio to discuss the added value joining the association provides its members and upcoming events with co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick.
The Greater Atlanta HBA serves nine counties in the metro Atlanta area. Up from 938 members in 2017 to 1,065 in 2019, the Atlanta association is the eighth largest in the country with a focus on:
- Networking
- Education
- Advocacy
- Community Service
In addition to networking and educational opportunities, local associations also advocate for the industry, making sure that housing remains a priority in the public policy arena. Government Affairs Director Stephen Davis serves as the boots on the ground with a focus on local government including county commissions, city councils, school boards and more.
The Greater Atlanta HBA is also host to several exciting events such as the Annual Membership Appreciation Event and the OBIE Awards. On Thursday, September 26, 2019, members are invited to the Greater Atlanta HBA office for the Board of Directors Meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by free food, drinks and live music at the Membership Appreciation Event from 5 to 8 p.m. The Greater Atlanta HBA office is located at 1 Dunwoody Park South, Suite 200 in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) and the Greater Atlanta HBA are also hosting the 39th Annual OBIE Awards on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Georgia Aquarium – a bye week for University of Georgia football fans. This formal affair is the perfect way to celebrate outstanding accomplishments in homebuilding, remodeling, marketing and personal achievements within the new home construction industry.
