Southeast Capital Companies

Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Southeast Capital Companies for winning a Gold OBIE in the Landscape Design – Community category for Smyrna Grove. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Smyrna Grove is a new home community consisting of 194 craftsman-style homes centered around a small lake in the heart of Smyrna. Smyrna Grove offers a cozy neighborhood setting with an ideal location just minutes to I-75 and I-285 and an easy downtown commute.

The attention to detail and the use of color and texture of the landscape has been a huge factor in the success of Smyrna Grove.  The community is located on a major four-lane road and has a lot of street frontage.  The landscaping helps to pull one’s eyes to the community.  The developer made excellent use of some of the existing materials.  The brick columns were kept and painted off-white and new iron fencing were added. The 24 crepe myrtles were relocated and saved and later planted down the side entrance of the community. All of these items make an excellent buffer for the community.  The landscaping sets the mood for the successful community from the front entrances, pocket parks, the trail around the lake, doggie spa area, pool, parking areas and clubhouse area. The excellent use of plants and colors in all of these areas has been a huge factor in the major success of this community.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2017. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. The OBIE Awards are named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given. To see all of this year’s OBIE award winners, visit www.atlantarealestateforum.com/category/obies.
