FrontDoor Communities Innovating for Today's Homebuyers

New home designs are always changing with the current trends and buyer preferences and FrontDoor Communities is always keeping track of them in their new home communities Atlanta, Charleston and Naples. On today’s All About Real Estate segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, Irene Hall, vice president of sales and marketing at FrontDoor Communities, joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to discuss the ways in which FrontDoor Communities is always innovating to provide what today’s homebuyers of all ages and locations want.

Hall has been involved in the new home industry for more than 30 years, which helps her understand a variety of homebuyer needs. FrontDoor Communities is headquartered in Atlanta, but offers excellent communities in Charleston and Naples. In North Atlanta, developments such in Woodstock, Alpharetta, Gwinnett and East Cobb are a huge draw for baby boomers looking to downsize, but FrontDoor is reaching into Atlanta’s intown district to attract millennial homebuyers, as well. In Charleston, Mixson, a mixed-use community with excellent amenities within walking distance has its grand opening today.

To reach out to millennial homebuyers, Hall says, FrontDoor has adjusted its traditionally single-family home communities into design-focused townhome communities featuring walkability to local favorites, affordability with homes priced in the mid-$300,000s and infill properties.

FrontDoor is addressing a variety of needs to suit broad homebuying markets. This includes walkability, which appeals to baby boomers, millennials and second-time buyers. To embrace the walkability factor, FrontDoor chooses locations with connectivity to its surrounding area, such as Inwood, Woodstock’s mixed-use community close to the Greenprints Alliance Trail and downtown Woodstock. Hall says they have found this to be similar in all of its markets—residents in Naples, Atlanta and Charleston want walkability. Additionally, FrontDoor prioritizes porches to promote a sense of community and streetscapes lined with trees to exude a lived-in atmosphere.

Additionally, FrontDoor is setting the standard for today’s trends in its new homes, including prep kitchens, black stainless steel appliances, community amenities, mixed metal finishes and more.
