Tiny House Atlanta Founder and Executive Director Will Johnston rejects the philosophy that bigger is better, at least when it comes to homebuilding. Johnston joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick on this week’s Around Atlanta edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio to share his thoughts on tiny-house living, as well as what to expect at the Decatur Tiny House Festival this weekend.
Tiny House Atlanta is a Georgia nonprofit committed to building walkable, sustainable “micro-hood” communities while educating individuals, groups and cities about the positive effects of micro living. Serving as one of the largest tiny house Meetup groups in the nation, Johnston has grown his network to more than 2,100 people since its inception three years ago.
The Decatur Tiny House Festival kicks off on Friday, September 29 from 6 to 10 p.m. with a VIP Tiny House Soiree with Keynote Speaker Steve Nygren, Founder of Serenbe. The evening will include food, drinks, personal tours of 20 tiny houses and conversations related to housing innovation and the tiny house movement.
The tiny house fun continues with the festival officially opening at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 30. The Speaker Series and Tiny House Talks begin at 11 a.m. and run throughout the event’s closing at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets for the Decatur Tiny House Festival start at $20 for Saturday or Sunday, $35 for the weekend or $75 for VIP passes that include access to the Tiny House Soiree on Friday evening and the full weekend of events. All proceeds from this event benefit Tiny House Atlanta to further its mission and the tiny house movement.
