Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates FrontDoor Communities for winning Community of the Year Detached for Traditions. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Traditions was designed to meet the combination of needs that benefit families and empty-nesters alike. One of the No. 1 design considerations was to create a plan that provided connectivity throughout the neighborhood with numerous sidewalks, pocket parks nestled within key areas of the community – fostering “neighbor” connectivity – and a Clubhouse and Pool that enhance the natural lake views – furthering the beauty of the overall community.  Future tennis in the coming year will add to the activity here.  Other key features are the play park for soccer or family picnics, the outdoor fireplace and the connection to the Big Creek Greenway and Fowler Park, allowing direct access via biking, walking or jogging for miles.

The streetscapes throughout are a well-balanced blend of alley loaded, front-entry, Craftsman-style and farmhouse style architecture. Home designs take advantage of the streetscapes and encourage social interaction with neighbors.  The theming of the community “Traditions” was developed to create a community where families could create their own “New Traditions” in a community that blends the concept of old and new seamlessly.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2017. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. The OBIE Awards are named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given.
